RunPlot

Running routes the way you like them

Plan a running route from any start. Say how far and how you like to run, and RunPlot draws a few routes that differ from each other, each with its distance, time and climb. Loops, out and backs, parks, trails and quiet streets, anywhere in Australia.

Free on the web, with nothing to install.

Say how far and how hilly

Pick a distance from 1 km to 60 km, a shape (loop, out and back, mixed, or point to point), a surface (any, trail, dirt, no dirt or singletrack) and hills (any, flat, rolling or hilly). Ask for parks, beaches, forest or riverside, or a route past public toilets. Avoid main roads, prefer lit paths, head out in a direction you choose, or name a point the route has to pass. Then press Generate.

An open suggestion with its distance, time and climb, a hill profile, the surface bar under Details and the Export button.

Check each route before you go

Each route shows its distance, time, climb and a small elevation profile. Open Details for the surface breakdown, the metres on busy roads and the turns per kilometre. Dismiss the ones you do not want, ask for more like a favourite, or drag a route into shape and watch its distance and climb update as you go.

Straight to your watch

Send a route to a Garmin, COROS, Suunto or Polar watch, or take the file yourself: a Garmin FIT course with turn cues, or a GPX track.

Keep the ones you like

Shortlist a route and it stays above the next batch while you try other settings. Everything works without an account. Sign in to save routes, keep locations such as home and work, and have your settings follow you between devices. Sign in with Apple, an emailed code or a password.
